Your One-Stop Chimney sweep

Complete wood burning system cleaning and repair

Pro-Vac Chimney Sweeps, Bozeman’s finest full-service professional chimney, and dryer vent cleaning service combine the latest technology with good old-fashioned Montana work ethic. You can be confident that Pro-Vac provides the highest quality service available in the Gallatin Valley. Service, safety and cleanliness are our top priorities and your satisfaction is always guaranteed.

Make sure your chimney is clean and inspected once per year to help prevent potential chimney fires, maintain the health and integrity of the appliance and flue whether it is metal or masonry and to ensure the safety and well being of your home and family.

Your fireplace won’t heat or burn as well with excess soot and efficiency is lowered. Dangerous fumes can also make their way into your home if your solid fuel burning system or chimney isn’t performing properly.

No matter what type of solid fuel appliance or fireplace you have, Pro-Vac Chimney Sweeps cleans the entire system from the fireplace up, which includes the firebox, smoke chamber, smoke shelf, catalytic combustors/ secondary burn systems, and flue.

We use 500 CFM dual filtration HEPA vacuums. Our powerful vacuums and HEPA filter, combined with our unique rotary brush systems, clean chimneys far better than traditional wire brushes. A rotary system removes 30% more than the  “old wire brush.” What’s more, this system allows us to clean most chimneys from inside the house without climbing on your roof.

We also include a Level 1 Inspection, where we will check your system for any visible problems. We will make specific professional recommendations if needed and will be happy to prepare an estimate/quote to fix any problems we may have found with your chimney/system.

Wood burning stoves

No matter what type of Wood Stove you have we will clean all parts of the stove interior and window. We inspect all parts and will inform you if there are any problems. In some cases, we may need to remove the interior pipe to clean properly. Extra Charges: Steep Roof; Interior pipe removal and cleaning; Repairs; Glaze removal.

Fireplaces

No matter the size of your Fireplace we always give a thorough scrubbing of the firebox and vacuum out the smoke shelf if necessary. We inspect your Fireplace as we clean and will inform you of any problems. If you have a Chimney Top Damper with a cable running down the chimney, we will clean using our air pressure cleaning system to protect the cable. Extra Charges: Steep Roof; Large Double Window Fireplace; Chimney Top Damper; Extra Large Firebox.

Tulikivi Masonry Stoves

We have developed an Air Pressure Cleaning System to effectively clean the interior of a Tulikivi and return the stove to “like new” operating conditions. Extra Charges: Double Window; Double Firebox; Bake Oven.

Gas Stoves & Fireplaces

We clean out all the dead bugs, blow out the burner tube, clean the pilot with a brass brush and polish window.

It is important to service the flue and the firebox about every six years. If you begin to notice a tan buildup on the window then it is probably due for a service.

Pellet Stoves

We clean your Pellet Stove using compressed air. Since there are so many orifices in a Pellet Stove, compressed air is imperative for the BEST cleaning. And is the only way to ensure that the exhaust fan is safely and thoroughly clean.

Wood Cookstove

Make sure all of your ornaments are removed before we arrive. If the stove is in your kitchen, please make room as we will have a large vacuum.

Wood burning furnace

We generally use compressed air to clean wood furnaces depending on its complexity.

We find the Wood Furnaces are not the most efficient systems and should be cleaned twice per season. Please make room in your furnace area.

Gas Furnace/ Boiler

It’s mostly the older versions that we service. Those with burner tubes that collect soot and its chimney.

Oil Furnace/ Boiler

These are challenging to clean and we generally use compressed air for the BEST cleaning.

Gas Hot Water Heater

Gas hot water heaters will often get a buildup of gas/sulfur in the bottom of the unit that can compromise the air flow.

Bake Oven

Air pressure is generally used on bake ovens to be able to clean the exhaust fans. The oven must be cooled so that it is not dangerous and so the heat does not wreck our tools.
